It is vital to maintain a healthy immune system now more than ever due to the current pandemic sweeping the nation. Many eating habits are shown to wreak havoc on the immune system, including the consumption of too much alcohol. When someone experiences a weakened immune response due to increased alcohol consumption, they may find themselves at a higher risk for pneumonia and other respiratory ailments. Excess salt intake can also lead to a weakened immune system resulting from the increased salt excretion leading to the inability to ward off bacterial infections.
