Tuna Melt Quesadillas

November 21, 2020 By Kate Leave a Comment

Tuna melts are usually pretty straightforward, but this recipe gives them a twist by making them as quesadillas. It was created to highlight Bumble Bee Foods’ new sustainability initiatives that are designed to protect the oceans and minimize plastic waste. To begin the recipe, make tuna salad with mayo, but add cumin, cilantro and lime juice. Top a tortilla with shredded cheese, mashed avocado, and the tuna salad. Top with another tortilla and brown both sides in a skillet, melting the cheese. Remove, add salsa or pico de gallo, then slice into quarters.

Key Takeaways:

  • A tuna melt is a staple in our home, we like it because it’s delicious and simple to make.
  • We have added a few things to the traditional tuna melt with some cilantro and a few other spicy ingredients.
  • The quesadilla is a spin on the classic, but we wanted to share it with all of you so that you could make them too.

“But when our friends at Bumble Bee Foods reached out to ask us to be part of a partnership highlighting their new sustainability initiatives (and their wildly delicious and incredibly versatile canned tuna), we knew that it was time to share a recipe for one of our comfort food favorites—but with a spicy little twist.”
