The social distancing guidelines that have been set by each state are meant to serve as a protective protocol for individuals across the US. Social distancing helps reduce everyone’s risk of contracting the disease, especially protecting those who may be immunocompromised. Even if someone who was exposed to the virus does not show symptoms, it is important for them to self-quarantine from the rest of their family to avoid active spreading while they are asymptomatic.
